Long Time, No Post

So, it's been a while, school is winding down, so I am going to try to be a better blogger.  That being said, I haven't been at FNM as much as I'd like as well, but life and a kid will do that.  So what's happened since we last spoke...wow, August 13, so since then I attended my first GP in Oklahoma City (also my first trip to OKC) and scrubbed out after round 4 of sealed, weak pulls and poor deck building on my part, but live and learn right?

So Theros is out, and it's a thing.  Mutavault is back, and its a thing, not much on my mind right now, but here is a link to a deck I'm toying with, would love to hear some thoughts, I love playing with the Tier 1 tourney decks, but this is my first real attempt at a brew, so let me know what you think.

To be continued...

  1. Hey John, have you looked at the "devotion" decks that are running rampant? What's funny is that a friend of mine and I were just talking Minotaurs last night. :)

  2. I like the deck Jon, but I do not like your manabase. You need more red sources. I would drop the basic Plains/Swamps completely & turn them into Mountains.
I would also turn the Godless Shrines into Temple of Silence and probably change 1 of each of the Sacred Foundry & Blood Crypt to Temple of Triumph. Your land count is really low & you'll need those scry effects to help smooth things out.
Also I would use Magma Jet over Shock. The ability to Scry 2 is way too important.

As far as sideboard is concerned, Chained to the Rocks (but only if you increase the Mountains), Anger of the Gods (weenie decks), Assemble the Legions (control), Pithing Needle (Aetherling), Ratchet Bomb (catch-all)

    Just my initial thoughts.
